Pushing Boundaries in Oncology Healthcare

Collaboration, innovation and community engagement

Jaivika Healthcare is a section 8 company aiming to research novel affordable therapeutic approaches, provide patients support through technology and raise cancer awareness by engaging with patients and research community. This Non-profit research foundation has been started by two like-minded individuals, Dr. Anup Tamhankar & Rajeev Gangal , with complementary expertise in Surgical Oncology, clinical research and Computational drug discovery and development respectively.

Dr. Anup and Rajeev have closely seen the effect that a cancer diagnosis and treatment can have on both patients and their loved ones while also recognizing strides in early detection, multimodal treatment strategies and personalized therapies in Oncology. These have helped turn most cancers into manageable chronic ones while also providing a good quality of life. Yet there is substantial scope to both explore new avenues and augment current strategies in several difficult to treat cancers.

Intriguing research by Dr. Anup and elsewhere points to interesting avenues to improve long term outcomes after chemotherapy. In the medium to long term, Jaivika intends to pursue these research avenues . This will need significant funding, collaboration on the pre-clinical, clinical stages as also early patient engagement.

Patients and relatives find it very difficult to understand the treatment details, disease status and further options by reading copious diagnostic reports, discharge summaries and treatment protocols. This is where technology can make a big difference. We endevour to develop applications to help patients navigate their journey with better awareness and understanding should they wish to.

Another short term complementary activity, is to leverage our collaboration ecosystem for patient education, counseling and awareness. Jaivika Healthcare will need your support as Donors, Researchers, Clinicians and Doctors and Patients to help us make an impact in reducing the burden of illness. Our focus shall be to independently fund and support promising research in areas of great clinical need but low investment, creating the conditions required to take the improvement of human health to new and exciting frontiers.
